North Wales women’s football truly deserves a good season.
For various reasons, we haven’t really had a smooth-running, uncomplicated campaign since Caernarfon Town roared away with the North Wales title in 2016-17.
Every season since then has been wracked in controversy, with Covid ruining the last two.
So a fresh start is just what the doctor ordered.
The new-look Welsh pyramid has introduced an elite eight-team FAW Tier 2 North, while the North Wales Women’s League returns to its traditional one-division format comprising 12 teams.
We give a huge welcome to FIVE new teams in the NWWFL – CPDM Bangor 1876, Llangefni Town, Llanystumdwy, Trearddur Bay Bulls and Welshpool.
The NWWFL will kick off on September 5, while a start date is still awaited for Tier 2 North.
