Skipper Andrew Swarbrick’s whirlwind ton dramatically turned around an ailing Chirk innings at Holyhead Road and led to a convincing victory.
Winning the toss and choosing to bat, the hosts were in all sorts of trouble at 91-7 before number eight Swarbrick cracked 103 off 66 balls, including 13 fours and five sixes, to completely turn the tables.
Swarbrick put on 62 for the eighth wicket with Samuel Davies, and then another 86 for the ninth alongside Connor Bailey (21 no).
Earlier, opener Liam Walker had made 38 amidst the carnage.
Chirk’s final total was 266-9 off 45 overs and it was a second league century of the campaign for Swarbrick.
Bottom side Pontesbury were then all removed for 108, that man Andrew Swarbrick taking the last three wickets and ending up with 3-7 off nine balls.
Bailey grabbed 2-12 from six, Nick Flack 2-16 off nine and Luke Gardner 2-27.
Chirk 1st XI are away to Beacon CC next Saturday.
