FLINTSHIRE KNOCKOUT TROPHY 2021 FINAL

LEG ONE
Northop Hall 127-6 (20) Mold 111-6 (20)

LEG TWO
Mold 68-10 (14.3) Northop Hall 58-0 (6.4)

Congratulations to Northop Hall – the 2021 Flintshire Knockout champions.

Leading by 16 runs from the first leg of a two-match final, the Hall completed the job with a resounding 10-wicket victory at Mold on Tuesday.

In last Thursday’s opening battle at Smithy Lane, the Hall were put into bat and posted 127-6 off their 20 overs, Jac Kennedy top-scoring with 52 and captain Will Higginson adding 28.

Lewis Pringle picked up 3-17 for Mold, who were then restricted to 111-6, John Crane 34 and Ewan Hill 30. Harrison Jones scooped 3-21 for the hosts.

Tuesday night’s second leg saw Mold needing a huge score to threaten the Hall’s chances of victory.

It did not happen. Winning the toss and electing to bat, Mold were rolled over for just 68 off 14.3 overs, Issac Allen the standout with 31.

Joshua Leach, Hall’s 14-year-old left-arm spinner, produced stunning figures of 3-7 off 4.3 overs, while dad Darren Leach snared 2-12 and Kieran New 2-33.

Requiring just 53 to win, Northop Hall eased to 58-0 off just 6.4 overs, Kennedy the star with 44 not out, Harrison Jones 12 no.
