Women’s football – news from Llangefni Town, Llanystumdwy and Bethel

Newly-formed Llangefni Town Ladies will have a second run-out this weekend when they travel to Llanystumdwy for a friendly on Sunday (12 noon kick-off).
Both teams will compete in the North Wales area leagues in the season ahead. Llanystumdwy have been formed for a while, but action has been severely restricted due to Covid-19.
Llangefni manager Bryn Griffith is pleased how things are progressing for the Anglesey side.
He said: “I have a solid foundation. A couple of girls who haven’t played before but are showing great potential.
“I have a few girls that have played before and they are bringing experience to the squad. A couple of more signings to strengthen the squad and we are ready to rock n roll.”
Bryn added, though, that he hopes fellow island team Amlwch Town will survive their current player crisis and compete in the 2021-22 season. “I do wish Amlwch all the best too and if I can help I’m happy to do so,” he said.
CPD Merched Bethel
This Sunday sees CPD Merched Bethel travel to Connah’s Quay Nomads for their second pre-season friendly.
Once again, as fans and supporters are not allowed at the games, there will be live updates on Bethel Ladies’ Facebook page as they happen.
