Pwllheli FC ladies off to a flyer

Rhyl’s Ceri Purvis puts in a tackle on Stacey Sansome

Pwllheli 6 (Bowe 2, Hughes 2, Thomas, Bohana)

New-look Pwllheli began their pre-season with a six-goal salvo at Belle Vue.

Manager Erica Jones and coach Andrew “Lefty” Wright must have been more than happy with the performance.

Wright said on Twitter: “Nice to be back on the touchline after so long. Great first match and team effort from @Pwllheli_lfc – and what a great venue.”

Boosted by being selected to compete at elite Tier 2 North level this season, Pwllheli played with plenty of swagger and style.

There were a number of new signings on show and one of them, former Caernarfon Town and Llandudno star Katie Bowe, scored twice for the visitors.

Regular markswoman Lowri Hughes also delivered a double, while there were also goals for Lois Thomas and newcomer Sioned Bohana.

Pwllheli are now seeking another friendly to keep the momentum going.
