Breaking: formation of jointly-run new North Wales Coast reserve league agreed

Prestatyn Sports will enter their Development team into the new Reserve League run jointly by the North Wales Coast (East) Football League and the North Wales Coast (West) Football League.

A new reserve league run jointly by the North Wales Coast (East) Football League and the North Wales Coast (West) Football League will operate in the 2021-22 season.

Nine clubs have currently signed up for the league. They are:

Bontnewydd
Kinmel Bay
Llanberis
Llanfairfechan Town
Llanrug United
Nefyn United
Penmaenmawr Phoenix
Prestatyn Sports
Pwllheli

It is hoped others may join, at least enough to create an even number.

Fixtures should start in mid-July.

The new set-up was agreed at a meeting of the North Wales Coast FA tonight.

Reserve League officials will be: chairman – Paul Williams; secretary – Andrew Williams; fixture secretary – Eifion Williams; referees appointments officer – Scott Longley; vice-chairman – Bill Abbott.

It was also agreed this evening, as had been strongly rumoured over the past few days, that the tiers 4 and 5 North Wales Coast West Premier Division and Division One will both begin playing matches on July 3.

This is subject to full agreement of the clubs, but there are no hurdles expected.

The North Wales Coast East League had previously decided their tier 5 East Division One starts on July 3, while tier 4 East Premier Division will begin a week later on July 10.
