Cymru Premier: Morrison – “We’ve got to be at top of our game to get anything off Caernarfon”

Connah’s Quay Nomads manager Andy Morrison expects a difficult ride when Caernarfon Town visit Deeside Stadium for tomorrow evening’s live TV Cymru Premier clash (5.15 pm kick-off).

In recent games, the Canaries have drawn 0-0 at The New Saints, held Penybont 2-2 and in midweek thrashed Bala Town 3-0.

This surge in form has not gone unnoticed by Morrison, who knows a victory tomorrow could possibly seal the title or take Nomads to the very brink of it.

The Quay boss told club media officer Nik Mesney: “It’s testament to the success we’ve had this season that we’re on the television every single game we play and it’s great – that’s the way we’d want it.

“They (Caernarfon) had a great victory in the week against Bala, we’ve obviously watched that game back and they were very good.

“So we know what’s coming. And we’ve also got the heightened expectations of a team coming and playing against the champions and they can have an influence in the way the league goes.

“They went to TNS, finished the game with nine men, and took points off them which are the difference now where we are in the league.

“We know how difficult it’s going to be – there’s a few ex-players coming back here. There’s always that added little bit of spice when you return to your old club.

“We’ve got to be right at the top of the game to get anything against Caernarfon as they’ll be wanting to go into the play-offs on the front foot and in form.”
