Wales international Siwan Elenid, midfield maestro in Bangor City’s Welsh Cup winning sides of the 1990’s and 2000’s, then later a star for Caernarfon Town, selects Dream Team number 28 for Grassroots North Wales.
She follows previous Dream Team ‘managers’ Iona Williams, Ffion Evans, Shona Roberts, Ellie Sandiford, Carol Lewis, Ceryl Jones, Paige Williams (Amlwch), Tegan Hewitt, Alaw Davies-Smith, Nia Wyn Ellis, Annmarie Jones, Fflur Williams, Chelsea Evans, Abby Williams, Gwenno Gibbard Bolton, Lexi Crawley, Claire Colville, Cerys Gadd, Libby McClelland, Meinir Thomas, Erica Jones, Rachel Roberts, Beca Williams, Mari Gibbard, Emily Jones, Cara Wyn Hughes and Catrin Wyn Thomas.
A talented goalkeeper and real character in the squad. Saw some awesome saves by her.
Although she looked slight in frame, she was able to get great tackles in when you thought a player had slipped through.
A versatile player who could play anywhere on the pitch, Strong, skillful and used all limbs to get stuck in.
Had some great seasons for Bangor City. Tall, strong, a good tackler and a good header of the ball.
A very passionate, brilliant midfielder who was a great tackler and lived for both Bangor City Girls and (when the squad moved to be) Caernarfon Town Women. She was skillful and an excellent passer of the ball.
Another player that could play defence, midfield or winger. Although short, she was strong and skillful, very fit and could pass the ball well, setting up some great goals.
Could read the game well, and was a good passer of the ball. Was a good influence on the team.
A hard working midfielder who was also great at getting stuck in and was also a passionate player. A great influence on younger players that looked up to her. A good entertainer on away trips too!
A very fit super speedy midfielder/winger who could run up and down endlessly. She ran and ran sometimes faster than the ball! She left many defenders for dead when on an attacking run, and some teams found it very difficult to handle her.
Her name says it all. She was so amazing on the ball, such a good reader of the game and worked well with the rest of the team. Worked hard to tackle as well even as a striker. Good free kicker too!
Fozzy was a very gifted attacker who could weave her way through most defenders. She found the net easily and scored fantastic goals.
