Big birthday wishes to Chelsea Evans of Northop Hall

Chelsea Evans would love to see her team Northop Hall return to the glory days of three seasons ago.

Back in 2017-18, the Hall were unstoppable as they clinched the North Wales Women’s League title and NEWFA Cup double.

Chelsea was a key part of a squad which also included 49-goal star Laura Pennington, plus regular net-finders like Ashleigh Foster, Kirstie Kural and Annmarie Jones.

But since that unforgettable season, Northop Hall have been forced to rebuild after the summer of 2018 brought a change of manager and numerous player departures.

Results have inevitably suffered and added to this, the 2019-20 season was cut short due to coronavirus, while the current campaign did not kick off at all.

Chelsea, who is 22 today, remains one of the club’s top talents.

Born on March 15, 1999, the Greenfield-based midfielder previously played for Mostyn Dragons and Blacon Youth Girls before joining Northop Hall.

She mainly operates in right-midfield, but can also play on the left.

Football certainly runs in the Evans family.

A great action photo of Chelsea

Chelsea’s grandfather Robin was a founder of CPD Glantraeth on Anglesey in 1984, dad Paul represented numerous Ynys Môn clubs in his career and brother Ethan is a very promising player.

An ardent Manchester United fan. Chelsea understandably classes that double-winning 2017-18 season with Northop Hall as her best in football so far

She sees her main strength as a player is probably being able to pick out a pass and crossing.

Hopefully she will get a chance to use those skills soon as we await news on a start date for the 2021-22 campaign.

In the meantime, have a great birthday Chelsea.
