Division One

Eleanor Thomas struck twice as Hall celebrated their first win of the season.

Midfielder Rebecca Hughes returned from injury for the Flintshire side and she had plenty of effect in a first half the hosts dominated.

Chelsea Evans broke the deadlock when she cut in from the left and fired a cracker into the top corner.

Hughes made it 2-0 when she exchanged passes with Evans and drilled home first time from outside the box.

Thomas added a third before the break when she nutmegged the keeper after good build-up between Hughes and Evans.

Ten minutes into the second half, Hughes had to leave the field when the hip problem which has kept her out of action for a while began to trouble her again.

Nonetheless, the Hall stayed in control, Thomas making it four with a composed finish.

Corwen, who are having a difficult time coping with a series of injuries, did manage to pull a goal back when player-coach Alaw Davies-Smith, who herself has been on the sidelines, hit a 30-yarder which dipped in under the crossbar.

The visitors travelled with only 10 players and struggled badly in the first half, but they were much improved after the break.

Division Two

Both Lowri Hughes and Stacey Sansome netted five goals apiece as Pwllheli rose to fourth in Division Two with an emphatic win over newcomers Holywell.

Hughes scored five for the second weekend running and is now on 10 goals for the campaign – the same total as Sansome.

Amy Roberts scored four, Sioned Jones added a hat-trick and Elin Brown notched her first goal for the team.

Typically, the enthusiastic Holywell never gave up and managed to grab a consolation goal through captain Sarah Massey.
