Buckley Town 1 (Eden 75)
Cymru Alliance – February 26, 2016

A superb performance saw Denbigh go goal crazy again at Central Park on this weekend back in 2016.

The hosts welcomed their manager Gareth Thomas’ former club Buckley and ran out convincing 5-1 winners.

Thomas made one change with Matty Hughes missing out and Paul Hart coming in.

Denbigh started strongly with Alan Bull hitting the side-netting within the first minute. The opening goal arrived on three minutes when Dave MacIntyre played in captain Warren Duckett, who fired home.

The rest of the half saw a below par performance as the hosts wasted a load of possession and their passing was poor. Buckley always looked a threat on the break but Denbigh went in at the interval still a goal to the good.

Half-time: Denbigh 1 Buckley 0

Whatever the manager said at half time certainly fired the players up as Denbigh came flying out the traps and played some superb football in the opening 20 minutes.

In the 47th minute defender Mike Sharples scored with a rebounded effort after Buckley keeper Ben Jones pulled off a superb save from a Bull header.

On 58 minutes former Bangor City striker Bull made it 3-0 with a superb volley after a great ball in by Sal Kisitu,

Three minutes later Bull again found the net following good work by Dan Lloyd.

Midway through the half, leading scorer Kristian Pierce got in on the act when latching onto a Kisitu pass.

Buckley gained a consolation on 75 minutes through Adam Eden, but by this stage the home team were out of sight and went on to record an emphatic victory.
