He turns just 23 today, but already Sion Bradley has packed plenty of success into his football career.
Hailing from Blaenau Ffestiniog and born on February 20, 1998, Sion is currently in his third season at Cymru Premier League club Caernarfon Town, having made 56 starts and featured 21 times as a substitute for the Canaries, notching 13 goals.
An attacking midfielder, Sion showed tremendous promise as a youth at Bala Town and with Coleg Menai, as well as at Welsh Alliance clubs Blaenau Amateurs and Penrhyndeudraeth,
In May 2016, he was a two-goal hero as Penrhyn beat Glantraeth 4-1 in the Mawddach Challenge Cup Final at Nantporth, Bangor.
Sion was in pretty special company that day as Penrhyn’s other marksmen were Meilir Williams and Paul Roberts.
He also joined Bangor City’s Under-19 side in 2015-16 and was a key member of the Citizens team crowned WPL Development champions.
Sion truly hit the headlines after scoring a hat-trick in the national Welsh Premier Development League Final against Cambrian & Clydach in May 2016, City edging a 4-3 thriller.
Bradley was part of Bangor City’s senior squad in 2016-17, making his Welsh Premier debut as a 77th minute substitute for Ashley Young in a 2-0 home loss to Connah’s Quay Nomads on August 21, 2016.
He came on again, this time for Christian Langos, in a 2-1 league triumph over Cardiff Met at Nantporth on October 2, 2016.
On September 7, 2016, Sion made his only first team start for Bangor and scored in a 4-4 Word Cup draw at Prestatyn Town.
City agreed a loan move for Sion to Porthmadog in January 2017. He slotted in well at Y Traeth, netting four goals in 10 (+2) outings before the end of the season. Sion excelled for Port in 2017-18, bagging 18 goals in 30 (+4) appearances.
With form like that, it is no surprise Caernarfon Town’s then manager Sean Eardley wanted to bring him on board for the Cofis’ return to the Cymru Premier.
And sure enough Bradley has proved quite a hit at The Oval.
