Haverfordwest County 1 (Bertorelli 68)
Bangor City 1 (S Edwards 90)
Welsh Premier League – February 13, 2016
On this date five years ago, Bangor scored deep into added time at the end of the match to salvage a point, and break the hearts of the hard-working hosts.
In an even if largely uneventful first half on a pleasant day in West Wales, neither goalkeeper was as busy as he might have been.
County went closest when Luke Borrelli saw his free kick blocked and Bangor cleared upfield.
Then City had their best moment of the half when captain and centre back Leon Clowes headed narrowly wide from a free kick sent in from the right by Sion Edwards.
Ten minutes after the restart Borrelli had an opportunity for the Bluebirds, but dragged his shot wide.
In the 68th minute Jason Bertorelli fired home to put County ahead after Connor Roberts had saved well from Kieran Howard.
Bangor thought they had drawn level minutes later through Anthony Miley but an offside flag cut short celebrations.
County stood strong and despite 17-year-old substitute Mike Elstone going close and Steve Lewis having an effort cleared off the line the home side led one-nil as the fourth official indicated that four minutes of added time lay ahead.
The four minutes advertised duly passed but play continued and home fears were confirmed as Rio Ahmadi flicked on to Sion Edwards who equalised with a shot timed at 96 minutes which flew in off a stray leg.
Fair to say referee Ryan Stewart was scarcely the most popular man in West Wales as he left the pitch moments later with Bangor the happier of the two sides.
Bangor: Connor Roberts, Declan Walker (Adam Cummins 60), Sam Hart, Leon Clowes, Ashley Young, Anthony Miley, Chris Jones (Michael Elstone 78), Damien Allen, Steve Lewis, Ryan Edwards (Rio Ahmadi 48), Sion Edwards.
