New badge for Buckley Town

Buckley Town FC recently organised a competition to design a new club badge – and the response was astonishing !

The origins of the BTFC crest are lost in the mists of time, but the Buck has always been there, in various guises over the years and with many faces.

With this in mind, and the launch of a new kit across the club on the horizon, officials felt it was about time that ‘Bucko’ had a facelift and launched a ‘Design a Badge’ competition.

Excellent entries from young and old flooded in, and from as far afield as Poland! Local schools submitted entries and the standard was very high, but there can only be one winner…

All the designs were sent in secret to volunteers and board members across the club (with the designers’ names removed for total fairness) and from the feedback received, there was one clear winner, standing head and antlers above the rest.

It has a modern feel while featuring a new and improved ‘Bucko’ and incorporating Buckley’s history.

The winning design was sent in by Jake Ryan Roberts, but the standard was so high, and the effort from entrants so extraordinary that the club decided to award a few ‘runners-up’ prizes. Winners of these will be contacted soon.

Jake’s original design has now been tweaked by Spectra Media (the club’s graphic design team and media partner) and will be incorporated into every area of the club. The crest will appear on every age group’s spectacular new kit in due course.
