Strong first half sets up Glantraeth victory over Menai Bridge

Menai Bridge Tigers 2 (Redmond, Frazer)
Glantraeth 4 (Williams, I Hughes, Evans, S Hughes)

After reaching the interval three goals down Menai Bridge produced a much improved performance in the second half.

Glantraeth still took the honours in this pre-season friendly, but both sides could take positives from the all-Anglesey encounter.

In blustery conditions the game started with both teams passing the ball really well and having good spells.

On 25 minutes a mix the Tigers defence allowed Tudur Williams to finish clinically.

Things got better for Glan two minutes later when a Iwan Hughes screamer flew in off the underside of the bar.

And right on the stroke of half time Dion Evans headed in from a corner to make it 3-0.

The Tigers flew out the traps in the second half and dominated the early stages.

It paid off on the hour with the prolific Dean Redmond firing home.

Tigers continued to press but the Glan defence held firm and a quick counter with 10 minutes left resulted in Scott Hughes calmly finishing.

A late well-taken goal from Kelvin Frazer ended the scoring in the last minute.
