Connah’s Quay Nomads 2 (Edwards 58, Wilde 64)
The New Saints 0

Nomads moved level on points with Cymru Premier leaders The New Saints after beating Scott Ruscoe’s side 2-0 at Deeside Stadium.

This top of the table clash saw Quay goalkeeper Oliver Byrne emerge as the first-half hero as he produced a number of cracking saves to deny the visitors a lead.

After the break Nomads edged ahead on 58 minutes when ex-Saint Aeron Edwards headed home a perfect cross from the right via Aron Williams.

Six minutes later, an almost identical goal saw Wilde head goalwards from another right-sided Williams delivery. The ball hit the post and went into the net off keeper Paul Harrison’s back.

TNS still lead the table on goal difference, but champions Nomads proved today they are in no mood to give up their title.

Bala Town 4 (Will Evans 5, Antony Kay 29, Chris Venables 44 & 65)
Cardiff Met 1 (Elliot Evans 49)

League top-scorer Chris Venables added two more goals to his collection as Bala proved they are still very much in the title race with a 4-1 thrashing of Met at Maes Tegid.

The Lakesiders got off to a flyer when Will Evans headed in his 10th goal of the campaign from a brilliant Ollie Shannon cross after just five minutes.

Antony Kay netted his first goal for Town in the 29th minute when he lashed home a back post volley via a corner.

Venables made it three a minute before the turnaround when he worked the ball onto his right foot from the left-side of the box and applied a clinical finish.

Elliot Evans pulled one back for the students early in the second period, but on 65 minutes a truly route one goal saw keeper Alex Ramsay’s huge kick carry into the opposition box where Venables headed over Alex Lang for his 15th goal of the campaign.

Cefn Druids 4 (Cody Ruberto 36, Christoph Aziamale 57, Charley Edge 71, Niall Flint 88)
Haverfordwest County 1 (Jack Wilson 77)

Druids climbed off the Welsh Premier basement with a brilliant win over enigmatic Haverfordwest at The Rock.

The hosts were on top for most of the first half and deservedly took a 36th minute lead when Cody Ruberto smashed home a loose ball in the box.

Only a fine stop from County keeper Wojciech Gajda denied Charley Edge a second for Druids before the changeover.

The Ancients went two-up on 57 minutes when Christoph Aziamale’s first effort was saved, but he made no mistake from the follow-up.

Alex Darlington’s great cross set up Edge to make it 3-0 in the 71st minute.

Jack Wilson replied for the visitors, but a quick free kick released Niall Flint to seal the points.

Just a second league win of the season for Cefn, but what a cracker it was.
