Cymru Premier: Tuesday night previews

Caernarfon Town will aim to end a run of three successive home league defeats when they host Bala Town tonight (Tuesday, 7.45 pm).

Cefn Druids, Connah’s Quay Nomads and Haverfordwest County have all taken maximum points at The Oval in recent weeks, so Huw Griffiths’ side will be anxious to halt a slide which has seen them slip out of the Cymru Premier top six.

The Canaries will be without suspended keeper Josh Tibbets, who was sent off within the opening five minutes of Saturday’s 4-1 loss to Haverfordwest.

Second-choice keeper Tyler French is likely to take over between the sticks this evening against his old club.

Third-place Bala, meanwhile, are on an eight-match undefeated run in the league and in overall Cymru Premier meetings with Caernarfon lead by four wins to two with one draw.

Champions Connah’s Quay Nomads will target a sixth straight home league victory when they welcome neighbours Flint Town United to Deeside Stadium.

The second-place Nomads came from behind to see off Barry Town United 3-1 on Saturday and will be favourites to beat a Flint outfit lying next-to-bottom and who have lost eight of their last nine matches.

The Silkmen did end a long losing run in their recent 3-0 success at Haverfordwest, but losing ways returned on Saturday, albeit in unfortunate circumstances, when Niall McGuinness’ men went down 1-0 at home to Cardiff Met.
