Friendlies on way in North Wales football – dare we dream of anything else ?

This week sees a few North Wales football clubs play friendlies for what they hope will be preparation for the 2020-21 season proper.
No competitive balls have been kicked since March in Welsh league football apart from the tier 1 Cymru Premier and Welsh Premier Women’s League.
Spectators have not been allowed into any top-flight matches.
Stage 3 of the FAW’s Phased Return to Football this week continues with teams from tiers 2-5 permitted to play friendlies against sides from their own leagues.
All games must be played in Covid-19 sensitive conditions, meaning only a maximum of 30 persons involved in any friendly fixtures.
This will generally comprise: 11 v 11 players plus one substitute apiece, two managers, two Covid-19 officers and a referee and assistant.
Last week a 5,000 signature plus petition demanding the participation figure rise above 30 was submitted to the Welsh Government.
It will now be considered for debate in the Senedd.
