Happy birthday to Airbus UK Broughton Women FC midfielder Jade Scott – 21 today.

The highly-rated Jade signed for the Wingmakers last season.

She performed well, but chances to shine were limited due to firstly so many games being postponed because of waterlogged pitches and then the coronavirus pandemic ending the campaign early in March..

The previous season saw Jade really impress for Prestatyn, scoring 13 goals for the North Wales League Division One team.

She notched a hat-trick in a 4-1 NEWFA Cup win against Amlwch, and struck twice in a 7-2 Supplementary Cup success at Rhyl Development.

Jade was with Prestatyn the previous season too and bagged a few goals.

In 2014-15, Jade was a member of the brilliant Prestatyn Girls team which lifted the FAW Under-16 Girls Welsh Cup.

The Denbighshire dazzlers defeated Coed Du Dragons 4-0 in the final at Latham Park, Newtown.

Prestatyn’s side that day was: Rebecca Elliott, Jade Scott, Sammie Jo Hyland, Lily Corry, Emily Luke, Paige Williams, Rebecca Bannister, Rachel Lloyd, Azaria Warburton, Shannon Hobbs, Ashleigh Mills.

Most of those players have gone on to become leading figures in senior football in ensuing years.

On top of national success, Prestatyn won just about everything else in sight and Jade looks back on that season as her best so far.

Jade began playing football at the age of six, featuring for her brother’s team who were all two years older.

Her skills have developed greatly over the years, her ability to read the game well – both defending and attacking wise – making her stand out.

Heading and using strength to her advantage are two other notable qualities.

Jade’s main inspiration has always been her dad Mark, who has supported her football from day one.

With Airbus set to play in the top North Wales League Premier Division when (or if) the 2020-21 season starts, Jade will be able to test herself against some of the best North Wales has to offer.

Her talents have not gone unnoticed, with regular interest being shown in her from some of the north’s leading teams.
