Newly-formed CPDM Bangor 1876 WFC have announced their management team for the 2020-21 season.
The next big news will be which players they have gathered together – details expected soon.
Johnathan Batten will be 1876’s new senior team manager. He coached for the now disbanded Llanberis women’s team of last season.
Batten will be joined and supported by Lois Regan and Aron Griffith as senior team coaches, who together form the club’s inaugural senior women’s management set-up.
Lois, 22, is a Wales international up to under-19 level, has played in the Uefa Champions League, won a Welsh Cup and represented the prestigious Reading Academy.
Secretary Dafydd Evans commented: “On behalf of the committee I would like to formally welcome Jonny, Lois and Aron to the club.
“We’ve really enjoyed working with them to date as we prepare for the season and getting things started and working closely with them for many seasons to come as we progress with the implementation of the club’s 5 year plan.
“The formation of the women’s senior team represents a key milestone on that journey and we are absolutely delighted and excited with the way this has been progressing both on and off the field, particularly with the confirmation of this management team and with their player recruitment.”
Senior team manager Batten said: “I am delighted to take up the opportunity to become the first-ever manager of the CPDM Bangor 1876 WFC senior team.
“When I spoke to Dafydd I was impressed by the club’s ambitions and the buzz they created about women’s football in general. Dafydd shared the same ambitions as me and we automatically clicked.
“I love the club’s family feel and the excitement of all the coaches and players once I went down to a session, there was a real nice welcoming feel from all.
“CPDM Bangor 1876 WFC have an exciting and clear 5 year plan, which I am really enjoying being part of and can’t wait to get the season finally started and playing competitively again.”
CPDM Bangor 1876 WFC have been placed in the six-team Championship West League of the new-look three division North Wales Women’s League.
Joining them are: Pwllheli, Penrhyn Bay, Caernarfon Town, Llanystumdwy and NFA.
