Caernarfon Town FC have stressed that under current rules they can only allow authorised personnel through the gates on match days.
The Cymru Premier club has issued a statement on the matter.
“Having received numerous requests for admittance to our recent matches at The Oval we wish to remind everyone of our match day policy, as agreed with the Football Association of Wales, and which we have previously published on the website and our social media platforms,” it said.
“All essential staff, including stewards and ball retrievers have been appointed by the club for this period where we have to play behind closed doors. This has been based on offering the opportunity of stewarding and ball retrieving to those who have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to paint and clear up The Oval.
“Unless you are an appointed member of the essential staff or have been approved by the club to attend, via our designated staffing list, we are unable to allow you access to the ground on match days. Please do not approach our staff and volunteers to request admittance as you are placing us in an awkward position and you will have to be turned away.
“If we find that the number of stewards and ball volunteers get low at any time in the future we will ask for further volunteers through our website and social media platforms. Until such a time, please do not request admittance.
“We understand that the situation is extremely frustrating for everyone but it is imperative that we adhere to the Government and FAW regulations on Covid-19.
“We are desperate to have all our supporters back at The Oval as soon as possible but have no control of this matter. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.”
