Llangefni Town’s newest signing has played all over the world

Llangefni Town’s latest signing arrives with an impressive international CV.

Canadian Noah Eisenberg has displayed his talents in the USA, Belgium and Northern Ireland and now aims to make his mark in North Wales.

Noah, 22, started playing soccer aged three. At 17, he got a scholarship to the United States, where he finished high school.

He played in the prep school league against teams like Berkshire, which Leeds United star Jack Harrison attended.

After two years Noah secured several scholarships in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA – college sport).

He played one year in college before getting an opportunity through his coach back home to train with Belgian First Division club Waasland-Beveren.

After doing well he returned the following year to Waasland-Beveren U21 and Reserves. His coach Marc Vanhoomissen guided the early career of Romelu Lukaku among others.

Vanhoomissen said: “Noah is a great central attacking midfielder with a great vision. He has one of the best shots I’ve seen.”

After Waasland-Beveren, the Canadian hopeful travelled to Northern Ireland where he signed with amateur club Derriaghy FC.

Then last summer, the player joined Lurgan Celtic of the NIFL Premier Intermediate League (Northern Ireland’s third division), but the team folded in August 2019.

Noah decided to leave Northern Ireland and came to Wales on trial with Llangefni Town.

After impressing the coaching staff, Noah was offered a spot but was unable to get settled before the window closed.

He decided to return to North America and sign with Dakota Fusion FC, but lost that opportunity after the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Noah now hopes his luck will change with Cymru North outfit Llangefni, although there is no immediate prospect of the 2020-21 season beginning for clubs below tier 1 in Wales.

Noah also represented Canada in the Maccabiah Games in 2013.

Often referred to as the “Jewish Olympics” and first held in 1932, the Games are an international Jewish and Israeli multi-sport event now held every four years in Israel.
