Cefn Druids 1 (Jamie Reed 88)
Flint Town United 2 (Richie Foulkes 26, Mark Cadwallader 80)
Promoted Flint edged up to second in the Cymru Premier after a hard-fought win at The Rock on Wednesday night.
Druids started well, finding the net on eight minutes only for the ‘goal’ to be ruled out for offside.
John Danby was also forced into a fine save to deny Naim Arsan in the early stages.
It was the Silkmen who took the lead, though, Wes Baynes whipping in right-footed a tantalising free kick from the left on 26 minutes which Richie Foulkes headed in at the near post.
In the second half, a Foulkes cross was tipped into the bar by keeper Michael Jones, while Baynes also rattled the bar.
At the other end Danby foiled Jamie Reed with a superb save.
Ten minutes remained and it was still anyone’s game when Baynes delivered low from the right into the box and Mark Cadwallader applied a deadly right-foot finish.
Cefn refused to fold and hit back with a Reed strike two minutes from time, but the visitors held on for the spoils.
