Rhyl-based NFA men’s team have been assured of a place in tier 4 of the new Welsh football pyramid in 2020-21.
Last season’s Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One champions were put into the fourth tier North Wales Coast East Premier Division earlier this summer, but that status was in doubt as their Rhyl Leisure Centre ground did not meet the required criteria.
However, the recent demise of Llandudno Athletic left the old Hotpoint Club ground at Victoria Drive, Llandudno Junction, vacant and NFA have now booked that pitch, suitable for tier four, for home games.
The news is a massive boost for NFA, who formed last season, and landed the Division One title at the first attempt by the narrowest of margins on average points per game from Llysfaen.
The Rhyl side went undefeated in all 12 league matches played before Covid-19 ended the season prematurely.
NFA’s women’s team will continue to play their matches at Rhyl Leisure Centre.
NFA men’s team are looking to recruit new players for their tier 4 campaign. Anyone interested please contact the club via their social media channels. Ste Robinson is a point of contact on Twitter @NFAdevelopment
