CPD Gwalchmai have boosted their squad with the signing of one of Anglesey’s top strikers.

Craig Moore has committed himself to the Maes Meurig club for the 2020-21 season.

Moore, 28, has a reputation as a prolific goalscorer on Ynys Môn.

He finished last season at Trearddur Bay Bulls, netting four times on debut, having started the campaign at Holyhead Hotspur, scoring 13 goals between the first and reserve teams.

In 2018-19, he banged in a career-best 57 goals for Anglesey League champions Bryngwran Bulls.

Moore has also played for Trearddur Bay United, Glantraeth, Bodedern Athletic and Holyhead Town.

His career goals tally is edging towards the 300-mark, having been top-scorer for Trearddur in both 2013/14 and 2014/15 (31 and 29 goals respectively).

The following campaign he was a member of the Bay squad which landed the Welsh Alliance Division One title at the first attempt.

Craig has also won the Gwynedd League title and Bob Owen Memorial Shield with Bodedern, as well as the Elias Cup with Holyhead Town.

Gwalchmai becomes his eighth island club.

Although a few of last season’s squad have moved on, Gwalch are happy to retain several key names, including proven goalscorer Mark Griffith.

Also staying on is the ever-faithful Corey Sinnott, another highly consistent player in front of goal over many seasons.

Geraint Jones, Cameron Jones, Aron Lewis, Darren Roberts, Declan Jones, Robbie Williams and Elliot Breaks are among others to commit to the club this term.

Meanwhile, there has been a real boost on the management front for Gwalchmai, with Carl Taylor coming on board as assistant to Craig Evans.

Carl is a long-time friend of the club who made his name as a cracking midfielder and player-manager with Holyhead Hotspur and Holyhead Town in years gone by.

Gwalch chairman Paul Owen rates Carl right up there alongside Richard Jones (Rich Bach) and Geraint Thomas (Ger Bach) as the best midfielders he has seen on the island.

High praise indeed!
