Brymbo FC management team Phil Hudson and Tommy Holmes have today left the club and taken over at Ruthin Town.
First team boss Hudson and assistant-manager Holmes step up from tier three to tier two as they fill the vacancy at Cymru North outfit Ruthin, previous chief Chris Hardy having recently stepped down.
A Brymbo FC statement said: “We would like to thank Phil and Tommy for their dedication, commitment and support to the club during their 3 years with us.
“They have developed a fantastic squad of players during that three-year period which brought the WNL Division 1 title, coming within goal difference of promotion to tier 2 and a great run in last season’s FAW Trophy.
“It has been a pleasure for Brymbo Football Club to have supported Phil and Tommy through their C and B coaching badges and we are fully supportive of their decision to want to test themselves in the league above.”
On the leaving the club, Phil said: “I’ve had a wonderful 3 years and I feel the club is now a part of me but football is about opportunities and we feel we can’t let this opportunity go, so we’re going to go and give it a shot.”
He went on to say: “We want to thank the committee and the players, because without them the great 3 years we’ve had at the club wouldn’t have been possible.”
Brymbo Football Club are in the process of drawing up a shortlist of candidates for the first team manager’s position and will make an announcement in due course.
