Midfielder James Bell has left Nantlle Vale and is believed to be the latest ex-Rhyl FC player on his way to Conwy Borough.

Bell announced his departure from Maes Dulyn on social media this evening.

He is thought to be the latest face at Y Morfa lined up by new Tangerines manager Matty Jones.

Bell was part of Caernarfon Town’s 2012-13 treble-winning squad who landed the Welsh Alliance title, FAW Trophy and Cookson Cup, as well as the 2015-16 group which scooped the Huws Gray Alliance league and cup double.

He also had spells at Rhyl and Glantraeth before joining Nantlle Vale. Bell has signed for Conwy in the past but the move did not work out as he picked up an injury before kicking a ball.

Bell said on social media this evening: “I’d like to thank everyone at Nantlle Vale – management, staff, backroom team and everyone who gives their time to the club.

“Thanks also to the players I’ve had the pleasure of playing with, as well as the supporters. I’m sad to leave the club but also excited about the new challenge ahead.”

Bell’s brother Daniel is manager at Nantlle Vale, who were in Welsh Alliance Division One last season.

He recently added former Porthmadog boss Sion Eifion Jones to the management team.

Conwy manager Jones, previously in charge at Rhyl, Denbigh Town and Llandudno, has been busy building up his squad for the 2020-21 campaign, having signed proven Cymru North performers, defender Gerwyn Jones, attacker Tommy Creamer and goalkeeper Rory Crowther, all former Rhyl players, over the past three days.
