Super Sevens: Women’s 7-a-side surname teams – Roberts 2

After selecting my Roberts XI recently I soon realised I had left two or three absolute certs out by mistake.
So, I tried to compile a Roberts 2 XI, but could not find 11 players.
Therefore, I’m going to put together three more teams of seven-a-side – Roberts 2, Owen and Edwards.
I could not find 11 Owen’s or Edwards’s either.
So kicking off with the Roberts 2 seven-a-side team.
Megan Roberts

Former Wales goalkeeper who also played in the Welsh Premier League for Rhyl & Prestatyn and when the same team became known as simply Rhyl.
She started off her career with Prestatyn Girls and her confidence and stature consistently rose, working alongside the likes of fellow local keeper and ex-Wales and Everton star Delyth Morgan.
Rachel Roberts

Top class defender in a Corwen side which is constantly developing into a competitive force within the North Wales Women’s League.
Rachel turned 18 last month and is in her fifth season at Corwen, having played for Coedpoeth United and Brickfield Rangers earlier in her career.
Was a member of the great Corwen Under-16 side which won a quadruple in 2016-17.
Rachel was selected to represent Wales Under-15s at the age of 13 and is regarded as one of the best young prospects in North Wales.
Lia Roberts

Right-back for Pwllheli, who play in Division Two of the North Wales Women’s League.
Lia always gives 100% and is a very skilful player who has a lot to offer the current Pwllheli squad.
Llio Roberts

Corwen player who used to operate in midfield, but has also been playing centre back. Strong player, with good feet, and can pick out a great pass. Llio has struggled with injury this season but she remains an important part of the team’s future.
Hannah Roberts (Denbigh Town)

Defender who can play full-back or wing-back either side.
Clubs played for include Penycae, Northwich, Wrexham futsal and Denbigh Town.
Hannah equally enjoys playing football and futsal and is an accomplished performer at both.
She played football up to age 14 but then stopped due to lack of opportunities.
Finished her studies and moved to Leeds, started playing futsal and then got back into football about five years ago.
Dorris Roberts

Llanberis player, widely known for her sense of humour, good player to have in the dressing room.
She’s been in and out with injuries this season, but when fully fit is an an attacking player, either via midfield or as a striker.
Bess Roberts

Simply the Bess!
This Roberts likes to play up front and can hold the ball up really well with her strength.
She possesses a mighty shot which can beat the best of goalkeepers.
