Pwllheli Ladies FC have re-signed one of their star players from the recent past.
Right-back Cara Hughes has returned to the Llyn club after spells at Caernarfon Town and Llandudno.
Cara, 21, began playing for Pwllheli as a 15-year-old, making her debut as a substitute and scoring what turned out to be the goal of the season.
In July 2018, she joined Caernarfon for their Welsh Premier campaign, but the season started badly for the Canaries and they dropped out of the league.
Cara signed for Llandudno in November 2018.
This proved a great move as the player impressed greatly at Maesdu Park for the rest of the 2018-19 season.
She began the current campaign with Tudno too, but in December the club resigned from the Welsh Premier.
Cara took her time before deciding whether to join another club and has now gone back to where it all began at Pwllheli.
She has been welcomed back with open arms at the Recreation Ground.
A statement from the club on Twitter yesterday said: “After an adventurous time away for her, experiencing the game at a high level, taking it all in and developing her own game, she has become a stand-out player in the Welsh Premier, making a huge name for herself.
“She also been the heart of many clubs on her travels.
“She is an asset to any team and wherever she goes she is loved and respected.”
