North East Wales League: Brymbo Victoria still top, Chirk Town back to winning ways

Caerwys were victorious in the Mike Beech Memorial Trophy

Brymbo Victoria held onto top spot in the Top Mark Uniforms North East Wales League with a 3-0 home beating of Acton.

Paul Messham, Finley Dyer and Luke Peters were the home hitmen.

Chirk Town returned to winning ways with a 1-0 success at a Sychdyn side which beat them by the same score last month.

Shaun Morris’ fourth-minute strike was enough to seal the points for the second-place Taverners.

Ryan Jones and Elgan Hughes scored two apiece as Caerwys knocked Borras Park Albion out of the Mike Beech Memorial Trophy at the preliminary round two stage by a 4-2 margin, Jack Hanley and Dan Jones on the mark for the visitors, who trailed just 3-2 at the break.

In the Top Mark Uniforms Premier Cup preliminary round two, Penyffordd Lions eliminated Mold Town United 4-2, Nathan Lavender, Ben Hughes, Liam Williams and Dan Lee for the winners, Terry Nicholas and Aaron North for the losing side.
