Vale of Clwyd & Conwy League: Cup cheer for Llansannan, Llanfairfechan, Meliden, Llysfaen and Denbigh Development

Geraint Jones hit four goals as Llansannan blazed into the semi-finals of the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Cup with a 7-0 away rout of Y Glannau.

Ifan Jones (2) and Gruff Roberts supplied the rest of the away net-finders.

Llanfairfechan Town also moved into the last four by beating Abergele 3-1, Elliot Croston, Jacob Fraser and Sion Devereux the home hitmen, Kieran Holland for the visitors.

Meliden joined Llansannan and Llanfairfechan in the semis after pipping Cerrigydrudion 2-1, Luke Alden and Liam Hughes getting the goals.

In the REM Jones Cup, Llysfaen walloped Llanfairfechan Town Reserves 7-1, Joshua Williams, Reece Kearney (2), man of the match Sean Sheridan (3) and Jake Reynolds piling on the goals for Emlyn Robert Jones’ side.

Rhyl All Stars and Denbigh Development finished 3-3 after extra time and went to penalties. It was Denbigh who emerged victorious 5-4 on spot-kicks, their keeper Tommy Hughes proving the shoot-out hero.

Jamie Hughes, Adam Cassidy and Ricky Roberts scored for All-Stars in the tie itself, Rob Lawson, Jack James and Joel Rowlands keeping the visitors on terms.

In Division One, Llandudno Amateurs Reserves whipped Henllan 4-1, Steve Collins (3) and Paul Vinall for the home side, Shaun Edwards with the away goal, and NFA were held again as their game at Penrhyn Bay Dragons finished 2-2.

Jordan Taylor’s double for the long-time leaders, who are still unbeaten, was not enough as Solomon Dickens and Tom Parry earned the Dragons a point.
