Northop Hall 5 (Hughes, Evans, Eagles, E Thomas 2)
Without a game in seven weeks, Northop Hall managed to secure a friendly at Welshpool on Sunday and emerged as 5-2 winners.
In their last outing, the Flintshire side had beaten Corwen 4-1 in a North Wales League Division One clash back on November 17, but frustrating due to the weather and cancellations had not been given a chance to build on that result.
So regardless of whether points were at stake or not, the girls were just pleased to get action of some sort in on Sunday.
And the match went well. Eleanor Thomas netted twice for Hall, whose other goals were provided by Rebecca Hughes, Chelsea Evans and the returning Laura Eagles.
Unfortunately, victory came at a price with Emily Bailey suffering a nasty injury in the 80th minute.
Emily requires a visit to hospital, where doctors opined it could be ACL or meniscus damage, but she needs to return on Friday for more tests.
Midfielder Rebecca Hughes is also due a hospital trip on Wednesday for checks on a hip problem which has been troubling her for some time.
On the plus side, Hannah Williams was set to return to training this evening. She fractured a foot against Airbus in the first game of the season.
