Welsh Alliance: Callum bags another treble as Llanrwst go third, leaders Hotspur take narrow win

Callum Parry’s latest hat-trick made it 21 league goals and 32 in all competitions this season as Llanrwst United romped to a 5-1 home win over Llanberis.

It was a fifth straight league win for the Rwsters, who are up to third in Welsh Alliance Division One.

Aron Hughes also netted twice for Leighton Griffiths’ side, Gethin Wakeham with a sole reply for Llanberis.

Leaders Holyhead Hotspur moved eight points clear at the summit after a 3-2 triumph at Mynydd Llandegai.

In a game of two halves due to the wind, Hotspur led 3-0 at the break, Kenleigh Owen putting them ahead with a superb free kick before Alex Jones and Asa Thomas added further goals.

Mynydd roared back in the second half, Tomos Williams cutting the deficit before Matthew Smith converted a disputed penalty, but the table-toppers held on for three crucial points.

Ben Jarvis and Conor Davies (penalty) bagged the second-half goals which earned Glan Conwy a 2-0 verdict at Llandyrnog United.

Llanrug United saw off St Asaph City 4-2, Gavin Lloyd Jones, Jonathan Sadler, Alan Mark Owen and an own goal making up the home tally, James Brewerton with the away responses.

Nantlle Vale versus Blaenau Amateurs ended 1-1, Aaron Thomas netting for the home side and Joe Dukes for the Quarrymen.

Carwyn Price scored the only goal as Penrhyndeudraeth pipped Llandudno Albion 1-0, while Prestatyn Sports v Bodedern Athletic was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Four of the six matches in Division Two ended in draws.

Gary Bolton put Aberffraw one-up against Gaerwen, but an 81st minute Shaun Monument strike ensured it ended 1-1.

Mark Jones, Marc Evans and Bryn Roberts were on target for Gwalchmai, but the Anglesey side had to settle for a 3-3 split with Llandudno Amateurs, Martin Byast, Kyle Johnson and Aiden Bell for the visitors.

Matty Griffiths was on the mark for Kinmel Bay, but Zac Gidlow hit back for Mochdre Sports to ensure a 1-1 outcome, and that was also the scoreline when Llannefydd hosted Amlwch Town. Ryan Rowlands handed the Anglesey visitors a seventh-minute lead, Elgan Roberts equalising on 59.

Y Felinheli are top on goal difference after walloping Pentraeth 7-1, Iwan Owen and Carwyn Dafydd bagging a brace apiece, Ifan Emyr, Rhys Parry and Owain Roberts one each, Callum Roberts with a consolation for the islanders.

On the same number of points as Felinheli are Penmaenmawr Phoenix, who beat Barmouth and Dyffryn 3-1. Mike Lundstram, Joel Hewitt and new signing James Burgess were the home scorers, Bobby Griffiths for Bermo.

In the Reserves Division, Denbigh Town went top after a corking 3-2 win at champions Porthmadog.

Andrew Thomas (2, 1 pen) and Lewis Jenner shared the Denbigh goals, Arwyn Jones and Cameron Jones for the hosts.

Stefan Toplis (2), Rhys Williams and Owain Paramore guided Pwllheli to a 4-1 verdict against Llangefni Town, Will Hughes replying, and it was 2-2 between St Asaph City and Llanrug United, who were grateful for a Robin Thomas double. Jamie Jones and an own goal ensured Saints took a point.
