Six of the Best: Previewing Some of North Wales football’s most attractive games this weekend

Flint Town United v Colwyn Bay

Really interesting battle on the cards between two teams who will meet in the last 16 of the Welsh Cup next month.
The Silkmen won 1-0 at the Bay early in the season so will be keen to repeat that outcome given they are just two points behind leaders Prestatyn Town.
Flint’s Kyle Smyth will once again miss out as he continues to recover from a groin operation, and Chris Li is suspended.
Skipper Richie Foulkes should be fit to start, after only being able to make the bench last week, and Mark Cadwallader, Dom McHugh and Corey Smart should all return to the squad, the latter rejoining the club following a loan spell with Penycae.

Welsh Alliance League Mawddach Challenge Cup round one (1.30 pm)
Aberffraw v Prestatyn Sports

Aberffraw have made a healthy habit out of beating teams from divisions above them in cup competitions over recent seasons.
Despite being bottom of Welsh Alliance Division Two, Berffro were impressive 3-0 winners at Mochdre Sports last weekend, and the Anglesey side will surely fancy their chances of overcoming Division One basement team Prestatyn Sports, who are still without a league win.

Welsh Alliance League Mawddach Challenge Cup round one (1.30 pm)
Penmaenmawr Phoenix v Gaerwen

The second and fourth-place teams in Welsh Alliance Division Two meet in what should be a close-fought tie at Cae Sling.
Phoenix are just two points ahead of Gaerwen in the table, the Anglesey side having a game in hand.
Gaerwen will be mindful of the fact they lost 3-0 at Pen in the league in September.

Welsh National League Premier Division (2 pm)
Mold Alexandra v Rhostyllen

No doubt the pain of last weekend’s 9-0 thrashing at The New Saints in the Welsh Cup will have left a mark on Mold, but they will need to bounce back quickly with Premier leaders Rhostyllen visiting Alyn Park on Saturday.
Rhostyllen themselves will not have been overly happy with their efforts last Saturday, having been held 2-2 at home by inconsistent Penycae.
An on-form Mold can be ruthless at home, as they proved in beating Brymbo 4-2 a fortnight ago. Very hard game to predict on Saturday.

Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Cup round one (1.30 pm)
CPD Llansannan v Rhuddlan Town

Two sides riding high in the Premier Division lock horns for what should be a tight Premier Cup tie.
Llansannan have already hosted Rhuddlan once this season, a league game between the pair back in August ending 2-2.
Despite being unbeaten and leading the Premier Division, Town have endured their share of heartbreak in cups so far and will want to avoid another mishap.

Adra Gwynedd League (2 pm)
Caergybi v Bangor 1876

Can Jamie Petrie (red) add to his 28 goals this season for 1876 at Caergybi?

Although Caergybi lost 10-0 away to 1876 earlier in the season, Saturday’s return battle at Millbank could be much closer.
Dale Moffat’s side will have been boosted by last weekend’s excellent 2-1 victory at previously unbeaten NFA in the NWCFA Junior Cup.
However, 1876 still have a perfect record in the league, and will target a ninth straight success on Holy Island.
