Prolific goalscorer Asa Thomas has returned to Holyhead Hotspur for a third spell.
The 28-year-old, who has netted around 450 goals in his senior career, spent the first four months of this season at Holyhead Town, before the Harbourmen withdrew their first team from the Welsh Alliance League last week.
Thomas now rejoins Hotspur, where he previously played in 2011/12 and 2016/17.
Darren Garmey’s side are top of Welsh Alliance Division One and Thomas will add to an already formidable strike force which includes Robert Jones and Chris Jones, who are just one shy of 30 goals between them this term.
Hotspur manager Garmey, who has also signed centre-back Luke Roberts from Town, said of his latest capture: “Again with Asa, it was an opportunity we could not let pass.
“It’s not every day you get the chance to sign such a proven goal scorer midway through the season.
“We are lucky to already have a quality attack with Chris, Rob and Sam, but with the games coming thick and fast and us hoping to be in the title mix we need to be prepared.”
Thomas’ most memorable campaign so far was 2010/11, when he amassed 112 goals from just 47 appearances for Trearddur Bay United.
He piled up 25 hat-tricks in an amazing season for the club, who won the Anglesey League, Dargie Cup, Megan Cup and Thomas and Williams Cup quadruple, as well as reaching the second round proper of the Welsh Cup.
Since that campaign, Asa has topped 40 goals in a season five times and proven he can score at higher levels by finding the net regularly in the Gwynedd League, Welsh Alliance and, briefly, the Huws Gray Alliance with Holyhead Hotspur.
He has also been a lethal marksman with Morawelon and Gaerwen.
Thomas has won a host of honours in the game and represented the North Wales Coast FA squad at the UEFA Regions Cup.
The netting machine has 430 career goals recorded, but with no stats available before 2010/11 (when he was aged 19-20), he is likely to have scored more than 450 in total.
