North East Wales League: Stunning start for new Caerwys manager Hadaway

Jordan Hadaway made a winning start with Caerwys – just

Jordan Hadaway’s first game in sole charge of Caerwys in the North East Wales League could hardly have been more rewarding or dramatic.

Believed to be the UK’s youngest-ever manager of a senior football team at 18, Hadaway saw his team recover from two goals down to snatching a heartstopping 4-3 victory at Borras Park Albion.

“It was an unreal game,” he said. “We were 2-0 down at half time, made two personnel changes and went onto win the game 4-3! We showed great passion, energy and fight to win the game.”

Hadaway’s managerial stint did not get off to the best of starts as Ryan Price and Jack Hanley put Borras two goals ahead within the first five minutes.

After the break two quick strikes from Theo Wolford Dyer and Tom Cumming brought Caerwys level by the hour.

It looked set to end in a draw, but the late drama began when Daniel McGinnis made it 3-2 to Albion in the 88th minute.

All over? Not quite. Kieran Smith made it all-square and then Elgan Hughes delivered the winner for the away side.

Leaders Brymbo Victoria outscored Mold Town United 4-1, Finley Dyer, Adam Lloyd, George Phoenix and Gary Evans on target for the hosts, Aaron North replying.

Tommy Hallam netted five as Aston chalked up a 12-1 win at Bellevue.

Joe Garner and Ethan Callaghan added two apiece, Luke Harrington, Kyle Trow and Danny Coppack with singles, Zehn Anwar for the home side.

Sychdyn v Chirk Town was postponed.
