Brô Cernyw defeated Llanelwy Athletic 6-4 in a 10-goal Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division thriller.

The hosts took a fourth minute lead when a cross from the left by John Gardener found Robin Hughes to score.

Man of the match Lloyd Hubbard soon made it 2-0, but Athletic rallied and halved the deficit when Rich Parry back-headed a free kick into his own net.

Just before the interval Cernyw’s Ianto Roberts half-volleyed home from a Hughes assist.

Llanelwy refused to give in and goals from Kevin Rickard and Steve Kirk made it 3-3 on 72 minutes.

It was not long before good work from Hughes enabled recent signing Hubbard to restore the home lead.

The ground was very heavy but Ioan Williams managed to use his fast pace to make it 5-3 after 80.

Rickard hit back before Hughes sealed it for Bro on 89.

Llansannan and unbeaten leaders Abergele shared a 3-3 cracker.

Connor Atkinson (2) and Jack Hoult provided the Gele total, Euros Lloyd and Geraint Jones (2 – including a 90th minute equaliser) made sure it finished all-square.

Llysfaen moved to within two points of Division One leaders NFA with a 3-1 verdict at Betws-y-Coed.

Reece Kearney, Sean Sheridan and Jake Reynolds were on target for the visitors after Sam Llywelyn had put Betws in front.

Penrhyn Bay Dragons celebrated their first win of the campaign with a 2-1 outcome at Llandudno Amateurs Reserves.

Solomon Dickens and Morgan Groome were the away net-finders, Sean Sharp for the hosts.

Llanfairfechan Reserves hammered Machno United 7-2, Elliott Croston and Robin Roberts with hat-tricks and Ryan Pope a single for the third-place team, Harry Kirkham responding with a pair for the travellers.
