Gwynedd League and Anglesey League: Shock first defeat for Bulls, Holyhead Town and Llandegfan earn first point

After seven straight victories leaders Trearddur Bay Bulls’ glorious run came to a surprise ending in a 1-0 defeat at Bontnewydd.

Morgan Roberts scored the only goal of the match on 67 minutes.

Caergybi finished up 3-1 winners over Bethesda Athletic, James Ryan delivering a double and Adam Roberts a single, Andy Clarke replying for the visitors with a penalty.

Ogwen Tigers pipped Llanystumdwy 2-1, Marc Wilson and Alex Griffiths with the home goals, Guto Roberts responding for the away team.

Bro Goronwy and Talysarn Celts played out a 2-2 thriller at Cae Nerys.

Top-scorer Jac Thomas put Bro in front, but Celts turned the tables to lead after 70 minutes with goals from Rhodri Davies and Gavin Davies (pen).

However, substitute Rui Silva equalised with his first touch to salvage a point for the Anglesey hosts.

Anglesey League

Holyhead Town and Llandegfan both picked up their first point of the season after drawing 4-4 – with each other.

Luke Miles, Joe Owen, an own goal and Ryan Hughes made up the Harbourmen’s score, Robert Boyes (2), Paul Owen and Kieran Fritter, with a long range free kick, earning the visitors their first reward from a game in a year and a half.

Both sides finished the match with 10 men.

CPD Y Fali thrashed Pentraeth Reserves 6-1, Paul Williams and leading marksman Casey Boylan bagging a brace apiece, Tudur Williams and Jerome Sillence also on target, Sam Hennessey replying.

Casey Gregg and Cameron Eaton (2) shared the goals as Holyhead Hotspur Reserves edged a 3-2 verdict at Bodorgan, Sam Hallas and Luke Allaway on the mark for the home team.

Friday action

The clash of the top two between Cemaes Bay and Mountain Rangers ended 2-2.

Steven Whittaker and Kieran Downey (pen) were the Cemaes scorers, Terry Watkinson and Sam Williams for leaders Rangers, who remain unbeaten.

Scott Hughes was a five-goal star as Arriva Bangor caned Cefni 8-3.

Darren Edmonds, Rhys Thomas and Dion Williams added singles for the hosts, Andrew Jones (2) and Dave Jones hitting back for the travelling side.
