North East Wales League: Leaders Vics still unbeaten, 13 for Sychdyn, Bellevue go down fighting

Penyffordd keeper Dave Vaughan was man of the match

Leaders Brymbo Victoria remain unbeaten in the Top Mark Uniforms North East Wales League after a 1-1 draw at Penyffordd Lions.

Drew Davies handed the Lions an early lead, but Finlay Dyer levelled on the stroke of half time.

Man of the match was Penyffordd keeper Dave Vaughan, who produced some vital saves.

Sychdyn will not see the number 13 as unlucky any more after winning by that score without reply at Bradley Park.

Dave Lyth (4), Sean Wilkes (3), Nathan Howatson (2), Terry Pughe (2), Scott Earnshaw and Paul Francis (pen) shared the away goals bonanza.

Bottom side Bellevue put up a great battle in their 4-3 home loss to Borras Park Albion.

Jac Brimfield, Jack Hanley (2, 1 pen) and Lewis Evans bagged the Albion goals, Bobby Gregory (pen), Jordan Wright and Matthew Connolly running Delwyn Derrick’s side so close.

In the Veterans Premier Division, Connah’s Quay Nomads Vets won 5-3 at Point of Ayr.
