North East Wales League: Leaders Brymbo Victoria’s unbeaten run ended by Chirk Town

Chirk Town are now the sole undefeated side in the North East Wales League

Chirk Town brought an end to leaders Brymbo Victoria’s 11-match unbeaten run with a 4-1 victory over their rivals in the Top Mark Uniforms North East Wales League.

Now the only undefeated side in the league, Chirk made it eight without loss courtesy of goals from Jordan Dooley, Steve Roberts and Tom Freeman (2).

Gary Evans replied for Vics, who are still six points clear but just seven ahead of Chirk, who have four games in hand.

Two first-half goals from Marcus Davies and Mark Gallagher secured second-place Penyffordd Lions a 2-0 triumph against visitors Caerwys. The net was found on 20 and 27 minutes respectively.

The prolific Niall Challoner struck at the double in the second period as Acton defeated Sychdyn 2-0, while it ended 4-1 to Borras Park Albion in their tussle with visitors Bellevue.

An Adrian Ashley own goal on 10 minutes put Albion in front, but that was soon cancelled out by Joao De Silva’s leveller for the bottom side.

Alex McCubbin made it 2-1 to Borras at the break, and the points were sealed through second-half strikes from Jack Hanley and Nathan Brookfield.

Bradley Park versus Mold Town United was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
