Welsh Alliance round-up: Denbigh Town six points clear, cracking win for Hotspur

Denbigh Town are six points clear at the Division One summit after a 70th minute Danny Clarke goal proved enough to secure a 1-0 home win over Glan Conwy.

Sam Tate set up Clarke for the all-important finish, soon after stubborn Glan had gone down to 10 men following the dismissal of debutant Tom Rooney.

Jake Walker had earlier gone closest to breaking the deadlock for Town when he struck the post.

Holyhead Hotspur are up to second following a 3-2 victory at Greenfield.

Chris Jones’ brilliant finish from outside the box handed Darren Garmey’s side a half-time lead, Dan McGuinness also firing against the upright.

After the break Dewi Thomas doubled the away tally and when Kenleigh Owen made it 3-0 from the penalty spot, it looked like game over.

However, Connor Hughes and Ryan Jones hit back for Greenfield to set up a nervy finish, but the visitors held on for the points and a fifth victory in six starts.

In Division Two, a pair of goals from the prolific Ryan Rowlands earned Amlwch Town a 2-1 win against Llandudno Junction, Mark Jones replying.

Kinmel Bay defeated Pentraeth 4-2, Ashley Wood, Matthew Griffiths (2) and Matthew Evans sharing the home haul, Jack Walsh and Carwyn Roberts hitting back.

Reserve Division action saw Bangor City stroll to a 6-0 success at St Asaph City.

A very strong Citizens side made it two straight wins thanks to hat-trick star Francesco Leghissa, Damase Kiwanda (2) and Lucas Surber.

Connor Livingstone, Iwan Roberts Jones and Rhys Williams all struck twice in Pwllheli’s 6-1 hammering of Colwyn Bay, Hari Gwilym responding.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix and Llangefni Town drew two apiece, Luke Waller with a double for the Anglesey travellers.
