Welsh Alliance League: Denbigh Town maintain top spot

Mark Roberts was on target for Denbigh Town in a 2-0 win at Penrhyndeudraeth

Division One leaders Denbigh Town made it six wins out of seven with a 2-0 success at Penrhyndeudraeth.

Mark Roberts headed in a Stuart Vernon cross to make it 1-0 at half time before Jake Walker added a second from close range on 82 minutes.

Jake Thomas and Alan Mark Owen grabbed the goals which earned Llanrug United a 2-0 win over Greenfield at Eithin Duon, while St Asaph City defeated visitors Bodedern Athletic by the same score, Josh Brown and an own goal securing the spoils.

Llandudno Albion were in ruthless form as they thrashed Prestatyn Sports 5-1 at Maesdu Park.

Dan Evans and Peter Jones bagged a pair apiece, while Ricky Jones also found the net, Dion Donnelly responding for the visitors.

Nantlle Vale came away from Llanberis 3-1 winners of a much-anticipated local derby, Aaron Thomas, Aaron Hughes and Cynan Davies with the away goals, Owain Jones striking first for the Darans.

In Division Two, Iwan Owen pocketed a hat-trick for Y Felinheli in a 5-0 hammering of Pwllheli, Rhys Parry and Carwyn Dafydd adding singles.

Sam Roberts netted all three for Kinmel Bay in their 3-2 triumph over Penmaenmawr Phoenix in the Reserves Division, Joe Williams and an own goal running the visitors close, while Iestyn Worth hit both for Nantlle Vale in a 2-2 draw against St Asaph City, John Newton and Charlie Lyons earning Saints a point.
