Travelling to School Lane to face a team with a 100% record, Hotspur Reserves really showed what they are capable of with this fine result.

Two goals apiece for Craig Moore and Deion Parry clinched the points, Chris Byast with a pair for the hosts (one a penalty).

Hotspur Reserves are now early joint leaders of the Anglesey League.

Seven days after Flint whipped Porthmadog 5-1 in the Nathaniel MG Cup, Rhyl travelled to Cae-y-Castell as second favourites to beat last season’s Cymru Alliance runners-up.

But despite going one-down early to a goal from former player Mark Cadwallader, the Lilywhites rallied to take a magnificent three points thanks to Steve Thomas and Aaron Hassall hitting the back of the net.

Holyhead Town 1 Mochdre Sports 2

With Holyhead having won their opening two and Mochdre losing their sole outing at home to Llandudno Junction, few would have expected an away win at Millbank on Saturday.

But Sports rode their luck, worked hard, and took the points thanks to net-finders from James Frost and Tom Roberts, Asa Thomas replying.

One of the leading title contenders Brymbo looked well set for three points after going 3-0 up inside 20 minutes against Albion.

But the FAW Trophy holders fought back to be level at half time, then added three more in the second period before 10-man Brymbo bagged a consolation.

Alex Williams (2), Callum Mannion (2), Danny Holland and Jordan Jones made up the Cefn six, Andy Noonan, Ben Kearney and Ryan Clarke (2) for the somewhat stunned Steelmen.

Rhuddlan Town 6 Meliden 3

It did not look too great for Rhuddlan when Meliden, who dropped out of the Welsh Alliance last season, led 3-1 at the break, but the second half was a different story.

Jay Whitehouse (3), Matty Rees (2) and Joshua Parry ensured Wayne Hughes’ men turned the tables dramatically to finish up 6-3 victors, Chris Marsden (2) and Joe Newell replying.

Hats off to Trearddur Bay Bulls, who made it three straight wins since joining the Gwynedd League by beating last season’s champions at Lon Isallt.

Justin Williams grabbed the all-important goal for Richard Owen’s charges, who will be delighted to lead the table at this early stage.

Perhaps the Bulls might have been expected to win their opening two games, but Saturday was a different proposition altogether and they delivered.
