Llandudno had to fight hard to progress to the third round of the Welsh Cricket Cup with a last-over success at Dolgellau.
The Division One underdogs won the toss and batted first, but found themselves in deep trouble at 66-6 as the Tudno attack spearheaded by Sam Rimmington wreaked havoc.
However, Dolgellau’s seventh-wicket pair of skipper Robert Humphreys (50) and Jamie Tomkins (26) gave The Marian hosts hope with a stand of 79.
At the end of 40 overs, the home side had posted 148-9, Sam Rimmington leading the way with a brilliant 4-19 off eight overs, Matthew Jones adding 2-28.
In reply, the Premier Division visitors had a little work to do on 73-4, but a partnership of 60 between Luke Kenworthy (42 no) and Ajay Dhawan (23) put The Oval outfit in a strong position.
Nonetheless, it was with just three balls to spare that Tudno reached 150-6 for a four-wicket triumph.
Veteran Phil Leeds produced a remarkably accurate spell for Dolgellau, claiming 3-2 off an eight-over spell containing six maidens.
Llandudno now travel to Denbigh in the third round, while either Newtown or Mochdre will host Colwyn Bay.
