Caernarfon fight fans cannot wait for the Clash of the Cofi Titans.

The atmosphere will be electric when heavyweights Alan Blacks and Alan Mark Roberts take on each other at the Market Mayhem show in September.

Blacks, 27, is the current WUMA Welsh Kickboxing Heavyweight champion, a title opponent Roberts, 35, has held in the past.

The pair will meet with the Market Mayhem Heavyweight crown at stake at the Market Hall, Palace Street, Caernarfon, on September 28.

Also on the bill will be European amateur lightweight champion Danny Williams of Pwllheli, who meets Danny McMillan Jr in a No Gi Grappling (fighting without the traditional uniform) Superfight.

Williams, 28, a former UKFC amateur lightweight champion, won the European title after beating fellow Welshman Jordan Peake at the Cage Warriors 100 event in Cardiff last December.

Another good contest will be the showdown involving Robbie Bridgwater of Porthmadog and the formidable Aled Tank.

But for Caernarfon combat followers, the clash of the night will be the coming together of the two Alans.

Roberts is trained by Caernarfon-based Chris Pritchard Pma, while Blacks is under the tutelage of Marvin Pritchard of Porthmadog’s MPMA martial arts centre.

Both Pritchards are hugely respected in the world of MMA.

Alan Mark Roberts is determined and unbeaten

A former Caernarfon Rugby Club star, Roberts has a 4-0 record in kickboxing and previously held the WUMA Welsh Heavyweight belt.

Roberts has already been busy plugging the much-awaited battle on social media. He called on Blacks to face him, and the pair reportedly shook hands on the bout this week.

Blacks, also a well-known striker for Llangefni Town Football Club, landed the Welsh title in just his third fight back in April.

He was chief attraction on the Ultimate Fight Night show at the Memorial Hall in Criccieth, which featured 25 bouts.

Blacks took on the much more experienced Neil Magnum and won on points over five rounds to be crowned champion.

Announcing the Roberts fight on Monday, Blacks said on social media: “I’m gonna train hard for this one on the weights and cardio. Good fight – may the best man win.”

Several other top bouts will be on the Market Mayhem card and tickets will be available soon.

Stay tuned for more details.
