FAW Amateur Trophy – 50 ties, a fascinating Denbighshire derby plus many more interesting match-ups

50 ties, 100 clubs – good luck to all who have entered this season’s FAW Amateur Trophy.
Last season’s winners CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 will not be back to defend the trophy as they have been promoted to Tier 2. The Trophy is for Tiers 3-6 in Wales only.
Lots of interesting draws were pulled out of the hat tonight, but definitely an eye-catcher is the Denbighshire derby between Prestatyn Town and Meliden.
The record books will need consulting to recall the last time this pair met, but this writer can remember both being in the old Clwyd League Division One around the 1990-91 mark.
Newcomers to the North Wales pyramid, AFC Weston Rhyn, have landed a home tie first up against Mid-Wales outfit Tywyn-Bryncrug.
Two former Tier 2 Cymru Alliance champions will come into combat when Cemaes Bay entertain Rhydymwyn.
It will be a case of all-sports when Mochdre Sports host Prestatyn Sports, two Tier 4 sides who will compete in the North Wales Coast East Premier Division in 2026-27
