North Wales women’s all-tme club XIs: No 7 – Connah’s Quay Nomads

All hail the 2025-26 Adran North champions – Connah’s Quay Nomads

With back to back Adran North titles behind them, plus two second-place finishes in the previous two seasons, Connah’s Quay Nomads are certainly a women’s football super power in the north.

Formed in 2019-20, Nomads have also reached the Welsh Cup semi-finals as a Tier 3 side and scooped the NEWFA Challenge Cup on three occasions.

Molly France

Genero Adran North Golden Glove winner for the 2024-25 league title winning invincibles.
Made 33 first team appearances for Nomads before leaving for Wirral Phoenix in summer 2025.

Megan Andrews

Top class defender named in the Adran North Team of the Season for 2025-26.
Made 71 first team appearances for Nomads, scoring five goals, and also played for the under-19s a number of times.
As well as being an Adran North title winner twice, she lifted the NEWFA Challenge Cup on two occasions.

Evie Chard

Nominated for Adran North Player of the Season 2025-26.
Twice a standout at the heart of a title-winning defence. A consistent performer since joining in 2023, Chard’s defensive qualities, but also the ability to contribute going forward, make her a true asset.
Has made 56 first team appearances over three seasons with the Deesiders.

Sienna Strapp

Defensive colossus from Hawarden, aged 21, who has been studying and continuing her football career in the USA since 2024.
Moved to Nomads from Northop Hall in November 2021, featuring in 15 first games and winning the NEWFA Challenge Cup in 2021-22.
In 2022-23, Sienna made 19 first team appearances for Nomads, scoring twice and earning another NEWFA Challenge Cup winners’ medal.
In summer 2023, she signed for English Tier 3 club Stoke City before relocating to the USA a year later.

Kylie Jones

Midfield or defensive ace who was an inspirational captain for the Nomads before her retirement at the end of 2023-24.
Jones made 64 appearances and scored 20 goals for the team in her three seasons under the leadership of Jordan Parry.
Scored in Quay’s 2022 and 2024 NEWFA Cup final victories over Llandudno and Airbus respectively. Lifted that said cup three times in succession with Nomads.

Kirstie Kural

Nomads’ all-time record scorer with 66 goals and regarded by many as the greatest player to represent the club.
Former Manchester City prospect and an England futsal international, Kural first made her mark in North Wales with Northop Hall before joining Nomads in 2021-22.
She bagged 26 goals in her first season, then 33 in 2022-23, winning back-to-back NEWFA Challenge Cups with the team she captained.
Is current player-manager of Wrexham Foresters, for whom she scored a modern-day North Wales record 66 goals last season which helped seal promotion to Tier 2.

Polly Wild-McGregor

Heroic captain of the Nomads team which won back-to-back Tier 2 Adran North titles in 2024-25 and 2025-26.
A former star with the much-hailed Penrhyn Bay Under-16 side, Wild-McGregor was a Nomad since 2022-23, notching 47 goals in 79 first team appearances before departing the club last week.
She achieved a unique double when she was named Genero Adran North Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season in 2024-25. She finished league top-scorer with 21 goals.

Elana Harley

Twenty-year-old midfielder who joined Nomads from Wrexham at the start of 2022-23.
She hagged 31 goals in 73 first team outings over four seasons, also netting a number of times for the under-19 side.
Other previous clubs included NFA and Chester and she also gained experience with international squads.
With Nomads, she won the back-to-back Adran North titles in 2024-25 and 2025-26, but has now left the club..

Ella Jones

One of the most prolific goalscorers to grace the women’s game in North Wales.
In five senior football seasons, this 21-year-old has piled up 84 goals in 64 appearances (33 goals in all competitions for Nomads) and it would have been considerably more but for injury lay-offs.
Has won no less than FOUR Adran North championships – two with Nomads and two with Llandudno. League top-scorer by a mile last season despite injury issues.

Francesca Scott

Flying winger who had a short stay at Nomads in 2021-22, but what an impact she made.
Scored 17 times in just eight games for Quay, including a double hat-trick in a club record 19-0 demolition of Llanfair United.
Also had a spell with The New Saints at Adran Premier level.
Daughter of former Wrexham player Stephen Scott.

Shannon Hobbs

Proven scorer who is number two in the all-time list of markswomen for the Nomads on 48 goals.
Her time with the club goes back to the first-ever season of 2019-20 under Sara Hilton. Missed two seasons with injury before returning to football in 2025-26 with Flint Town United.
Consistent net-finder in her playing seasons with Nomads. Great shooting ability and calm and composed on the ball.
