Football, fun and family – enjoy a great event at Llay Welfare FC this Saturday!

Get down to Llay Miners Welfare’s football ground this weekend to see great players in action in a game which forms part of a fun-day fundraising event.

Llay Welfare Vets will take on a Wales Vets team at The Ring on Saturday, June 13, kick-off 2 pm.

Welfare team manager Jonny Taylor said: “My vets side are playing against Wales Veterans with some very good ex Wales players in the visiting team.

“It’s a chance for people to get down and see some of the ex-players in the flesh for a few quid and get a football fix while helping support a local club and grassroots football for the youth system.”

Entry to the event is £3 and the football is not all that will be on offer as a fun day will run throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

A Llay Welfare spokesperson added: “We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to The Ring for what promises to be a brilliant day for the whole club and community.

“The day gets underway at 2 pm as a Llay Welfare Vets Select XI take on Wales Vets, before we celebrate our junior players at the annual presentation afternoon from 3:30 pm, hosted by special guest Harry Ashfield.

“From 5 pm, the fun moves into the Bingo Room for our Family Race Night, with party games, plenty of laughs and a great atmosphere for all ages.

“Most importantly, every penny raised throughout the day will go directly back into our youth section, helping us continue to provide opportunities, equipment and football for local children.

“Whether you’re a player, parent, supporter or local resident, we’d love to see you there. Come along, enjoy the day and help support the future of our club.”
