Just 10.3 overs – that is all it took to complete Saturday’s one-sided demolition job at Holyhead Road.
Chirk bowled out Lilleshall, who chose to bat, for only 16 runs off 7.4 overs, then the hosts breezed to 17-1 off 2.5 to secure what must be one of the quickest wins in the North Wales club’s history.
After winning the toss and deciding to take first knock, the visitors were 0-2 before further plummeting from 16-6 to all out without adding a single run.
Andrew Swarbrick claimed a hat-trick for the hosts, finishing up with 5-9 off four overs, clean bowling all of his victims, while Matt Lawrenson scooped 4-5.
Chirk took 17 balls to reach the winning line, Simon Rickett managing to hit a six and a four in his 12 not out.
Skipper Dale Randall grabbed a career best 5-3 as Chirk seconds maintained their flying start to the campaign with a fourth win in five outings.
Randall was ironically out for a duck when the visitors elected to bat after winning the toss, but others fared better as the Welsh side posted 172 all out off 36.3 overs.
Daniel Graham top-scored with 40, while extras amounted to 31 and there were handy contributions from Harry Lunt (29) and Barry Wilding (20).
In reply, Harcourt nosedived from 38-1 to 86 all out.
Randall’s 5-3 came off six overs and included the caught and bowled of Paul Gould for a duck, having fallen himself to an identical dismissal off the bowling of….Paul Gould.
Wonder how many times that has happened in cricket? Two players dismissing the other in the same game C and B for 0. Probably very rare.
Chris Hughes also snapped up 2-20 for Chirk seconds, who triumphed 20-5 on points.
