Ffion Jones was a five-goal hero as Airbus racked up a magnificent seven in Powys.
The Wingmakers produced a clinical attacking performance, repeatedly exploiting a very high defensive line.
The breakthrough came in the 16th minute, with Ffion Jones opening the scoring in style. It was a sign of things to come: Jones raced through the high line, carried the ball into the penalty area and calmly slotted past the goalkeeper’s right-hand side.
The second goal on 34 minutes was a near carbon copy, Jones again running in behind, dribbling into the box and finishing with confidence. Jones could have had more before the break, forcing the Welshpool keeper into a couple of good saves.
Cat Ellis almost added a third with a powerful drive from outside the area that flew off the top of the crossbar.
The third goal arrived on the stroke of half-time, Jones completing a hat‑trick after being played through by Alicia Thomas.
Welshpool continued to hold a high line in the second half and Airbus remained dangerous on the break. Five minutes after the restart, Thomas got on the scoresheet herself, reacting quickest after Ellis struck the foot of the post to finish from close range.
Grace Kehoe was a constant threat down the left flank, tormenting the Welshpool defence with pace and direct running, and her influence grew as the game wore on.
Jones added her fourth and fifth goals in the 70th and 74th minutes, both following familiar patterns as she broke through the defence and finished clinically.
Kehoe rounded off the scoring in the 88th minute, finishing confidently to cap a dominant display from the visitors.
With five goals, Ffion Jones was a deserved Player of the Match.
